fun on a Friday afternoon.

Last week, we read a realistic fiction selection from our Harcourt series called The Big Bushy Mustache.  It is a story about a boy who so badly wants to look like his father but is always told he has his mother's eyes.  One day, his teacher passes out costumes for a class play and he gets a mustache.  He decides to sneak the mustache home to show his father that he actually looks like him, but along the route home, he loses the mustache.
This story had a bit of creativity, some suspense, and a good lesson learned.

On Friday, we held mini talk-shows with hosts & hostesses asking questions of different characters in the story.  It was a great way to re-tell the story, as well as get a chance to wear a silly disguise ourselves.

If you read you can grow a mustache! I am so glad that Room 1 knows how to make learning fun. Great job everyone.
